In 2003 Air Iceland a dynamic company with roots that go back to the beginning of aviation in Iceland changed from a traditional GDS hosted system (Amadeus) to Radixx Air and by years end for the first time in their history Air Iceland was profitable.

Air Iceland serves 8 destinations within Iceland, Both Reykjavík Airport and Akureyri Airport serve as hubs for Air Iceland´s route network. In 2004 air Iceland reported a 37 percent increase in load factor and to date have been able to reduce operating expenses by two and one half million dollars.
